Are you looking to add a furry member to your family? Look no further than our Adoption Process!
Here’s how it works:
- Choose a potential dog you would like to adopt from our “Dogs Up for Adoption” section on our website, or from our posts on Facebook and Instagram. To avoid disappointment, please inquire with us if the chosen doggie is still available for adoption.
- Fill in the adoption application form found on our website, and submit it along with a preapproval home video.
- Once the application form is approved by our team, we’ll conduct a physical home check to ensure that the conditions in which your new doggie will live are adequate.
- In case the adoption is approved, you will be required to pay the adoption fee, which is R1700 for puppies. This fee covers all three 5 in 1 vaccines, tick and flea treatments, dewormers, and sterilization at 6 months old.For adult dogs (1.5 years plus) who are fully vaccinated and already sterilized, the adoption fee is R950. It also includes the microchip.
- We’ll organize a day for you to fetch the new member of your family.
Please note that a physical home check has a cost of R150, which will be deducted from the adoption fee if the adoption is approved.
There are many other doggies at our shelter waiting for a home that didn’t get published. If you are interested in adopting a dog that fits your criteria, contact us , and we will send you photos and information.
Adopting a dog is a big decision, but we’re here to help guide you through the process and make sure that you find the perfect companion for your family.

What if I already have pets at home?
We strongly recommend introducing your current pets to the potential new family member before adoption to ensure they get along. We also suggest keeping them separated for the first few days to allow them to adjust to each other’s presence.
What if I have children?
We encourage families with children to adopt, but it’s important to consider the personality and needs of the dog. Some dogs may not be suitable for homes with young children, while others may be a perfect match.
Can I return the dog if it doesn’t work out?
Yes, we understand that sometimes things don’t work out as planned, and we are here to help. We do ask that you give the dog a chance to adjust to its new home before making a final decision. If the dog needs to be returned, we will work with you to find a suitable solution.
Can I choose a specific breed of dog?
We are a mixed-breed rescue, and we encourage potential adopters to consider adopting based on personality and compatibility rather than breed. However, if you have a specific breed in mind, we recommend checking with breed-specific rescues first.
What if I can’t afford the adoption fee?
We understand that the adoption fee may be a barrier for some families, but it helps us cover the costs of vaccinations, sterilization, and other medical expenses. We are happy to work with potential adopters on payment plans or reduced fees in certain circumstances.
Looking for a more hands-on adoption experience? Come meet our puppies and adult doggies in person at our Pop-Up Adoption Days!
These events take place at local markets and other locations and are shared on our social media pages, so be sure to follow us to stay updated.
The same adoption process applies for our Pop-Up Adoption Days: the adoption application form and home check must be approved before you can take your new dog home.
However, you have the option of doing a “Pre-approval” by submitting the adoption application and completing the home check before the event. This way, you can go home with your new furry family member on the day of the event.
Don’t miss the chance to find your perfect match at our Pop-Up Adoption Days!
